
Meet Rachel Tucker, a dedicated Stein Legal attorney passionate about keeping families together and serving the community with empathy. She has an impressive educational background, including a B.A. in Political Science and International Politics from the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor, a J.D. from Syracuse University College of Law with a Certificate in Family Law, and an LL.M. in Family Law from Chicago-Kent College of Law. Rachel is admitted to the Maryland Bar and D.C. Bar. She has received recognition for her academic achievements, including being on the Dean's List at Syracuse University College of Law for Fall 2009 and Spring 2010.
Rachel's primary focus is handling cases for children who have immigrated to the United States and are applying for Special Immigrant Juvenile Status to avoid deportation due to abuse, abandonment, or neglect by a parent(s). She joined Stein Legal in 2021, bringing a wealth of experience, including from her time as a project manager for the U.S. Department of Defense. In that role, she developed skills in managing large government projects and also has experience working to help uninsured clients apply for state and federal benefits programs such as the Affordable Care Act, Medicaid, Medicare, and Social Security Disability.
Rachel is also certified as a Disability Representative by the National Association of Disability Representatives and argued on behalf of claimants seeking benefits under the Social Security Administration before Administrative Law Judges.
Originally from Cleveland, Ohio, Rachel moved to the DMV area to live closer to her younger siblings and nephews. She loves the area and has taken advantage of its many career opportunities, whether as a practicing attorney or in project management. Rachel's passion for the law is driven by her desire to positively impact people's lives, just as her grandmother did as a social worker.
Rachel's approach to practicing law involves taking the time to understand her clients’ needs and circumstances to work toward finding solutions that will best serve them. She is known for her sense of humor, compassion, and ability to connect with people, which her clients appreciate. Her strengths include her passion for her work, empathy for her clients, persistence, dependability, and loyalty. Rachel takes pride in helping children facing adversity obtain legal outcomes that make them feel happy and secure.
