Tahiris Castillo

Tahiris Castillo joined our firm on July 8th, 2024, bringing with her over eight years of experience in legal services, particularly within nonprofit organizations, such as CASA de Maryland, dedicated to the immigrant community in the DMV area.

As our Receptionist and Legal Assistant, Tahiris is often the first point of contact for our clients, whether they are scheduling consultations, seeking case updates, or visiting our office. She takes pride in creating a welcoming atmosphere, ensuring that each client feels respected and supported throughout their legal journey.

Tahiris holds a background in Diplomacy and International Relations, is fluent in Spanish, English, and Italian, and is currently expanding her linguistic skills by studying Russian. Her personal journey as an asylee from Nicaragua has deepened her commitment to helping others, making her role at our firm both a professional and personal mission. Beyond her work, Tahiris is passionate about languages, reading, hiking, and doing yoga.

She is also an active participant in social and cultural events that advocate for women's education, social justice, and mental health. In 2019, she was honored with the Diana Award for her activism in human rights and her efforts in fundraising for underserved communities in Latin America. Tahiris is currently a board member of the Torture Abolition and Survivors Support Coalition International (TASSC INTERNATIONAL), a nonprofit organization, based in the DMV, that supports survivors of torture worldwide. Her work continues to reflect her belief in the power of young people to drive societal change and make a lasting global impact.
